We met Niv Shimoni from Tel Aviv on one of the last days of September. It was also his last day in Kaunas - Niv spent a few sunny days in our city during his second trip to Lithuania.
Niv is a travelling photographer so it’s best to use his pictures to portray his #kaunastic impressions. To sum it all up, he thinks Kaunas is a perfect city for a weekend getaway for its location, price balance, architecture and nature.
‘Vingiu Dubingiu’ (also included in our #kaunastic pub list), ‘BO’ and ‘Moksha’ are among the food&drink places Niv, who stayed in ‘Hof Hotel’, would definitely recommend.
He loved Kiemo galerija, or the Yard gallery, a community initiative led by Vytenis Jakas - most of Niv’s pictures are from this place! Do take a peek yourselves - the address is Ožeškienės 21.
Our new acquaintance whose lineage can be traced back to Aukštadvaris, a small town some 80 km from Kaunas, also fell in love with Nida and Vilnius. In fact, he told us he hadn’t bought a return ticket when coming here - who knows, maybe we have a new resident..? Let's check Niv’s blog and find out.
