Your holiday is as good as your breakfast is, right? Here's a handful of our favourite spots in Kaunas that'll satisfy your omelette needs. We hope to include more breakfast-friendly places soon.
P.S. We haven't included the numerous bakeries of Kaunas but there are so many we'll probably have to do a separate list.
P.P.S. You can of course have breakfast in most hotels, too.
S. Daukanto g. 23
08:00 – 12:00
This is the place where Lithuanian traditions meet the 21st century needs. Order some farm eggs, porridge or pancakes if you want to find out how good our grandmas are at cooking breakfast.
Casa della pasta
Laisvės al. 27
9:00 – 12:00 (savaitgaliais 09:00 – 14:00)
Full English, eggs Benedict, croques of all kinds, waffles and one of the best breakfast views in town. Pssst... they serve amazing pasta and pizza later in the day.
The lovely Old Town bakery also prepares amazing omelettes in the morning hours. The most popular side dish here is a newspaper!
The cafe on Laisvės alėja is usually full of businessmen making deals, no matter what the time of the day is. The overall rush doesn't mean you have to finish that Greek omelette fast. Enjoy!
A cup of real good joe and a salmon bagel is something we recommend if you're in a hurry.
The texmex brunch menu is something worth surviving until the weekend. Thanks god the menu is available on both Saturdays and Sundays otherwise we couldn't choose between the huevos rancheros and the cheese quesadillas. A mimosa never hurts, though.
They do serve the traditional eggs Benedict but we do recommend you try the original hangover burger that contains 180 grams of beef and a lot of other secret goodies. Oysters are an option, too.
