Shot in Kaunas: Tokyo Trial

Last year, the M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum became the Japanese Army HQ building.

Premiered on Netflix on December 12th, “Tokyo Trial” is a thrilling four part historical mini-series chronicling the epic trial that punctuated the end of the second World War as eleven of the Allied nations’ judges determined the fates of twenty-eight Class-A Pacific War Criminals.

Part of the series starring Michael Ironside, Stacy Keach, Stephen McHattie and more was shot in Kaunas - for that, the producers chose one of the most important modern architecture buildings in the city, The M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum. Lithuanian actors were also cast for the series. Let’s check the trailer before we head to Netflix!

The museum, first opened in 1936, has been recently renovated and is now open for public as an unique exhibit - until Jan 6th, 2017, you can visit the halls while they’re still free from exhibitions.
