Solo Society: One More Reason to Move to Kaunas

The new student house is located a stone's throw from Laisvės alėja and other hotspots of Kaunas.

Hundreds of international students come to Kaunas every autumn for exchange programmes or full studies at one of the universities in our city. Engineering, medicine, management, languages, political studies – there are plenty of options to choose from; no wonder the number of fresh faces is growing every semester.

One of the most common problems that need to be solved upon arrival is where to stay for a few months or four years. There’s a new kaunastic solution for that – welcome to Solo Society!

Opening on September 1st, 2018, Solo Society is a renovated building in Kęstučio street (that’s super central) with 250 rooms. “Our goal is to create a community which is strong, successful and connected with ideas, contacts and future projects. We present 250 rooms, convenient common spaces and easy to use a system of accommodation with all needed services. It helps everyone to feel safe and at home”, the team behind the project explains.

Each room at Solo Society fully equipped and furnished with bed, bookshelf, table, chair, table light, wardrobe, dresser, two hot plates stove by request, microwave, refrigerator, kitchen goods (fork, knife, spoon, plate, glass, cup), private bathroom with shower, sink, WC.

The list of communal spaces includes joint kitchens, studio places, meditation area, a library, a rooftop terrace, inner courtyard and parking areas for both cars and bikes. Did we mention the speedy wi-fi, gym hall, cleaning staff, elevator, laundry room, vending machines and effective security system? Laisvės alėja, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe, full of bars, cafes and things to do, is a stone’s throw away, as well as Akropolis shopping mall, Žalgirio arena and buildings of Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University etc.

As of the end of July, 80% of the rooms have been booked by students from Sweden, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand and Lithuania. It seems that it’s going to be a kaunastic opening party!

The developers of Solo Society even announced a mural contest earlier this year – Morfai, the infamous Kaunas-based street artist, won this one. A picture of a positive dog should land on the facade of the building before its opening.
