Kaunas could easily be called “the city of museums”. More than 20 of them are located here, including national, municipal and private institutions. The best time to do it is of course the Long Night of Museums or La Nuit des Musées 2017, the international event scheduled for May 20 this year.
Many of the museums in Kaunas will be open late on Saturday, May 20th, and by late we mean 9-11PM or even midnight and the entrance to all of the institutions participating in the Nuit des Musées will be free. It will sadly be impossible to visit all of the museums as a lot of them will offer carefully curated and really interesting events on Saturday, meaning it’ll be hard to leave and rush to the next one.
Here are our top 5 suggestions for the big Saturday of 2017, based on the uniqueness of the museums and their locations and, of course, their program. You’re welcome to discover more museums here.
