As of August 1, 2024, the Low Emission Zone is in effect in Kaunas Old Town. A €2 fee applies for each entry into the zone. For visitors staying longer than an hour, the new charge will be less noticeable since the first hour of parking is covered by the fee. Due to the ongoing reconstruction of the Townhall square, parking in the square is temporarily unavailable.

Payment methods for parking including mobile apps  are available.

Approaching to the boundary of the Low Emission Zone, you will be notified by traffic displays “Payable Zone €2” and other information signs.
