Kaunas has a new boat trip route, starting at the “Žalgirio” arena in Nemunas island, and reaching Kulautuva in the Kaunas district. Coincidentally or not, the renewed ship is also called “Žalgiris”.
The season starts on June 18; “Žalgiris” is ready for trips every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10 am. It takes an hour to reach the lovely town of Raudondvaris, two to wave at Kačerginė resort, and another 30 minutes to chill in Kulautuva, yet another exciting historical town on the riverside of Nemunas.
The refreshed ship fits 70 passengers and 20 bikes or scooters, which means you can easily exit the boat at any station and go back to Kaunas (or anywhere you wish) on two wheels. Kaunas and Kaunas district are connected with new bike paths, and our city has plenty of exciting routes to offer. A roundtrip with “Žalgiris” costs 12 Eur for adults and 6 Eur for kids aged 7-16 and people with disabilities. Children younger than seven travel for free if they don’t need a seat. A ticket for your bike is 6 Eur. Book a ticket here.
