Mykolas Žilinskas gallery was built in 1989. There are exhibitions of foreign art collections which was saved from the period when Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis gallery was established. Major part of the old art pieces in the Gallery got in from the collection of Lithuanian manors. Old foreign art works are appended by donated art from famous Lithuanian collector and art patron Mykolas Žilinskas (1904-1992).

Gallery visitors can look over ancient world art exposition with collections of Ancient Egypt culture sculptures, Antique pottery, Roman glass wares and coins. There are works by XVI-XX century artists which portrayed European art. Likewise, XVII-XX century foreign applied art exhibition.

There is a museum for blind people which is located in the gallery's vault. The museum gives an opportunity for disable people to get acquainted with original modern art pieces by tactlile method. Equally, there is a availability to arange various cultural events, like concerts, presentations of books, lectures, seminars, scientific conferences, festivals of movies, various excursions. Also, there are educational programs for children, teenagers and disable people with special preparations.
