The M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, established in 1921, is not only one of the oldest and largest museums in the country but also one of the most impressive examples of modernist architecture, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023. It is the only place in the world with the creative legacy of the most famous Lithuanian artist, composer, and public figure M. K. Čiurlionis (1875-1911). The paintings and graphics of this brilliant Lithuanian artist are exhibited in the modern renovated premises since 2003. In the Music Hall of the museum, you can listen to his music.

At the museum, visitors can explore the development of early art spanning nearly 600 years, offering a concise reflection of Lithuania’s artistic and cultural trends. Before their eyes unfold treasures of the Middle Ages, legends, rarities, death, the Church, and the world of the wealthy…

In the museum’s inner courtyard, we invite you to visit a unique exhibition of Lithuanian cross-crafting, showcasing the cultural heritage of our nation — the oldest works or those that have preserved their traditional forms unchanged through centuries, untouched by urban culture or industrial influences.

The museum also hosts various cultural events: concerts for children and professional performers, book presentations, lectures, seminars, scientific conferences, guided tours, and educational programs specifically made for children and youth. In the museum shop, the visitors can buy reproductions of M. K. Čiurlionis artworks, postcards, original souvenirs, various accessories, books.
