SAFETY

Kaunas is a hospitable city much liked by tourists. However, please adhere to the same safety rules as you do at home and leave no valuable possessions without supervision. If you have an emergency and need to call the police, the ambulance or firefighters, please call the emergency phone number 112.

If there are no police officers who can talk in a language you know, you will be offered an interpreter (although you may have to wait until the interpreter arrives).

You can exchange currency in all banks on business days and in Akropolis and Mega Shopping and Entertainment Centres every weekday.

If you have arrived at the airport, you can use the currency exchange services at the TOP EXCHANGE currency exchange office located in the airport. If you have arrived at the Kaunas Bus Station, you can change currency at the „Valiuta24.lt“ currency exchange office: I-VII 8:00–20:00.
